NCOMING MATERIAL, SET-UP ( IN-PROCESS ) INSPECTION, FINAL ( PRE-SHIPMENT )
INSPECTION, TOOL and GUAGE CALIBRATION, CONTROL OF ENGINEERING REVISIONS,
FORMAL INSPECTIONS  and TESTING RECORDS, POSITIVE STATUS INSPECTION STATUS,
and CORRECTIVE ACTION and MATERIAL  REVIEW.

MIL-Q-9858

MIL-STD-105A
In 1950  the U.S. Military introduced MIL-STD-105A  sampling tables and procedures for
inspection by attributes.  It eliminated the need for 100% inspection  and effectively started
Quality Control on using statistical methods to   monitor production.

MIL-STD-414
About 1953 the U.S. Military introduced the MIL-STD-414 for sampling by variables.
This further reduced Quality  Control's work load by requiring much fewer samples than MIL-STD-105.
